Sharing Experiences in the Development of Modern Human Resources

On June 21, an international conference titled "Sharing Experiences in the Development of Modern Human Resources" was held, organized by the Agency for Civil Service Affairs with the support of the Astana Civil Service Hub.

As part of the conference, a plenary session on the topic "Meritocracy - the Main Principle of State Policy in Human Resource Management in Civil Service" took place. Opening remarks were delivered by D. Zhazyqbay, Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, and A. Baymenov, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub.

Alihan Baymenov emphasized that meritocracy is a fundamental principle in the selection, evaluation, remuneration, and career advancement processes. He stressed that countries guided by the principle of meritocracy exhibit stable economic development, making the full implementation and protection of meritocratic principles one of the key conditions for effective public administration.

Leading international and domestic experts also participated in the session, presenting on various aspects of human resource management. Ana Landa Maria Ugarte, Global Manager of the UNDP program "Gender Equality Award for Public Institutions," spoke about overcoming conscious and unconscious biases in terms of effective meritocracy.

Peter Vandenbroucke, Chief Advisor and Skills Development Manager, and Coordinator for International Relations of the Belgian Federal Civil Service, gave a presentation on "Meritocracy in Human Resource Management: Evidence-Based Approaches."

Main areas of activities
