Astana Civil Service Hub expands new horizons of cooperation with GCC region

Riyadh – Manama – Muscat

Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Alikhan Baimenov visited Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman. 

In Riyadh, Mr. Baimenov met with H.E. Dr. Bander Assad Ahmed Alsajjan, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The parties discussed potential collaboration between ACSH, IPA and GCC region in capacity-development programs and joint research and training initiatives aimed at enhancing governance and public service efficiency.  

During his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Baimenov held talks with H.E. Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service Bureau, with Mr. Mohamed Al Qaed, Chief Executive Officer, Information Authority and eGovernment. These discussions focused on strengthening institutional frameworks and fostering innovation in public administration, HRM in civil service, de-bureaucratization, public service delivery and digital transformations. Additionally, Mr. Baimenov delivered a guest seminar at Al Ahlia University of Bahrain, where he shared insights on modernizing civil service systems and promoting good governance practices.  

In the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Baimenov met with H.E. Mr. Sayed Salem Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, and Mr. Abdulaziz Al Risi, Deputy President of the Royal Academy of Management. The meetings emphasized the importance of collaboration with GCC region in advancing public administration reforms and exploring innovative approaches to governance.  

Mr. Baimenov also held a meeting with Dr. Ra’ed Ben Shams, President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, to discuss potential partnership modalities and joint activities. These discussions underscored the ACSH’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and creating a platform for the exchange of best practices.  

This visit marks a significant step forward in the ACSH’s efforts to strengthen international and regional partnerships with the GCC countries, as well as to advance the global agenda for effective public administration and civil service excellence.
